Outskirts: feminisms along the edge is a feminist cultural studies journal.

Published in May and November between 1996–2020, this site is an archive of the 40 volumes.

Outskirts is no longer accepting submissions.

New and challenging critical material, from a range of disciplinary perspectives and addressing a range of feminist topics, are brought together to discuss and contest contemporary and historical issues involving women and feminisms.

Outskirts is published through the School of Humanities at the University of Western Australia. It is supported by editorial consultants and independent academic referees.

Outskirts began as a printed magazine in 1996 before going online in 1998 as an Open Access Journal according to the definition of the Budapest Open Access Initiative

Outskirts is a double-blind peer-reviewed journal.
